Honor 8 Pro with 6GB RAM, 128GB storage launched in India for Rs 29,999

Huawei's sister brand Honor has just launched their latest smartphone, the Honor 8 Pro in India at a price of Rs 29,999. The smartphone will be available exclusively via Amazon India and is a comprehensive update over its predecessor - the Honor 8 which was launched in India last year.
Just like the Honor 8 , the Honor 8 Pro features a dual camera setup at the rear and comes with top of the line specifications, a premium glass and metal design and a huge battery. The Honor 8 Pro competes directly with the OnePlus 5, which was launched a few weeks ago for Rs 32,999.
The smartphone will go on sale on 6 PM, 10th July, exclusively for Amazon Prime customers. This sale will only last for 30 hours. During this sale, HDFC debit and credit card users will get 15 percent cash back. Open sale will begin on 13th July, midnight. For the open sale as well Amazon has a few launch offers lined up - customers can get no cost EMI for up to 12 months and Vodafone is offering 45GB of data free for 5 months along with the Honor 8 Pro. The smartphone is available in two color options - midnight black and navy blue.
The back of the Honor 8 Pro is made of metal and has a matte finish while the front is an glass affair. The sides are curved and the smartphone has a screen to body ratio of 79%. The smartphone is powered by Huawei's own HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor clocked at 2.6GHz paired with 6GB of RAM, a 4,000mAh battery with fast charging support and the Mali G71 GPU.
The Kirin 960 SoC is the same processor found in the Huawei P10 and Mate 9 and is the flagship processor of the company's HiSilicon range. Huawei claims that the CPU is 18 percent faster and the GPU is 180 percent faster than the one found on the Honor 8.
The Honor 8 Pro comes with a 5.7-inch Quad HD display with a pixel density of 515 ppi, 128GB of internal storage which is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB) and a fingerprint sensor at the back.
The Honor 8 Pro runs on Huawei's EMUI 5.1 running atop Android 7.0 Nougat and supports 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 and GPS/A-GPS. There are a host of custom features on board EMUI 5.1 and Huawei has also worked hard to streamline the software with machine learning and new algorithms.
On the imaging  front, the Honor 8 Pro comes with a dual camera setup at the rear - a primary 12MP RGB (color) sensor and a secondary 12MP monochrome (black and white) sensor with both having an aperture of f/2.2. The rear camera also comes with phase detection and laser autofocus and a dual-LED flash. On the front, there is an 8MP sensor with an aperture of f/2.0 and the ability to capture video in up to 1080p resolution.
Unlike the OnePlus 5, where the secondary camera is a telephoto lens used for 2x lossless zoom, in the Honor 8 Pro, the monochrome sensor captures a lot of data, which then is used to process images so that they have better details, especially in low light. Just like the OnePlus 5, the dual camera setup also allows you to take bokeh shots - images with depth of field effects. The Honor 8 Pro can also be used to take striking black and white shots courtesy of the secondary monochrome sensor.
